Dr. Eric Caplan grew up in Colorado Springs and is thrilled to be home again! Dr. Caplan graduated from the University of Virginia in 1995 and from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1999. He went on to do his residency in Indianapolis, at the Indiana University Medical Center. He attended the Medical College of Georgia for his Allergy and Immunology Fellowship. He had the privilege to train under Drs. Betty Wray, Dennis Ownby, William Dolen, and Philip Smith.
Dr. Caplan is a Diplomate of The American Board of Allergy and Immunology and The American Board of Pediatrics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Dr. Caplan is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is also one of the only trained Anaphylaxis Community Experts in Colorado.
His interests include childhood and adult asthma, seasonal or animal allergies, food allergy and eczema, and chronic sinusitis. He also takes special interest in evaluating the immune system in patients who have had “too many infections” or children who are “always sick”. He practices with care and compassion and takes time to ensure each patient has a satisfying office visit.
