Are breathing issues affecting your Life? We’re here to help. At Colorado ENT & Allergy, we understand how frustrating it can be when breathing is difficult. Our expert ENT specialists are dedicated to diagnosing and treating nasal airway obstruction problems so you can feel like yourself again.
Common Signs You May Need an Airway Assessment:
- Chronic nasal congestion or stuffiness
- Loud snoring or interrupted sleep (sleep apnea)
- Difficulty breathing through your nose
- Frequent sinus infections or headaches
- Feeling tired even after a full night’s sleep
- Mouth breathing or dry throat
If any of these sound familiar, it’s time to take action. An airway assessment in an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) office is a medical evaluation performed by an otolaryngologist to examine the structures and function of the upper respiratory tract, including the nose, throat, and larynx (voice box). This assessment is typically done to identify any abnormalities, obstructions, or conditions affecting breathing, swallowing, or speech.

Personalized Treatment Options for Better Breathing
After your airway assessment, we’ll create a plan tailored to you. Depending on your condition, solutions may include:
- Non-surgical treatments: Nasal sprays, allergy management, or lifestyle adjustments
- Minimally invasive procedures: Balloon sinuplasty, turbinate reduction, Clarifix, Rhinaer, Vivaer
- Surgical options: Septoplasty, sinus surgery, or sleep apnea correction
- Advanced care: Customized therapies to improve airflow and quality of life
Trouble Breathing?
If you have trouble breathing due to chronic rhinitis or nasal airway obstruction, you might be a candidate for a VivAer, RhinAer, Clarifix, or Neuromark procedure. These minimally invasive or noninvasive procedures aim to reduce nerve signals that drive inflammation and congestion.
What Is the VivAer Procedure?
VivAer is a procedure that is minimally invasive and helps to treat NAO (Nasal Airway Obstruction) in patients. This obstruction can result from several nasal anatomical abnormalities, such as a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, or collapse of the nasal valve. During the VivAer procedure, a small wand is inserted into each nostril. This wand delivers controlled, low-temperature, radio-frequency energy to the tissues of the nasal airway. As a result, those tissues shrink and stiffen, thereby opening the airway and improving airflow. However, there is no external alteration to the appearance of the nose.
What Is the RhinAer Procedure?
RhinAer is a procedure intended to treat chronic rhinitis, a condition characterized by nasal inflammation and rhinorrhea. Like VivAer, RhinAer uses a wand-like device to deliver low-temperature radiofrequency energy, but in this case, the energy is delivered to the posterior nasal nerves, which are responsible for generating rhinorrhea. This gentle treatment disrupts the signals that travel along nerves responsible for rhinitis symptoms, such as nasal congestion, runny nose, and postnasal drip.

What Is the Clarifix Procedure?
ClariFix is a noninvasive cryotherapy procedure performed in the office. With cryotherapy, the unbalanced nerves that cause rhinitis are essentially ‘frozen’ to obtain breathing relief. Since it’s a noninvasive procedure, it avoids the need for surgery or anesthesia. You can remain awake and alert during the procedure, which lasts approximately half an hour.
What is the Neuromark procedure?
Neuromark is an innovative, clinically proven procedure that safely targets the root cause of CR—overactive posterior nasal nerves (PNN). By using low-power energy to disrupt these nerves, Neuromark may provide durable relief from persistent symptoms.
