Dr. Matthew Whinery grew up in West Texas. He accomplished his undergraduate training at Texas A&M University and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Dr. Whinery then attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern, one of the top 20 medical schools in the country, where he graduated in the top 5% of his medical school class. Subsequently, Dr. Whinery completed his residency in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Colorado. During his time in residency, Dr. Whinery received the top score of the residency program’s yearly exam 3 years in a row. Additionally, Dr. Whinery has participated in medical mission work in Mexico and India.
Dr. Whinery enjoys seeing and treating all aspects of ENT. He has a particular interest in complex nasal surgery (rhinoplasty) as well as complex sinus surgery. When not working, Dr. Whinery enjoys spending time with his wife and four children as well as skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.
