How Does Allergy Blood Testing Work?
Allergy blood testing measures allergen-specific IgE antibodies in a blood sample. A provider draws a small blood sample, which is then sent to a lab for testing. The lab measures whether the immune system has produced IgE antibodies in response to specific allergens, such as pollen, dust mites, mold, pet dander, insect venom, or certain foods.
